Dr. Tim McLean

Tim is an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon who is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.

Tim graduated from both Dentistry and Medicine with honours from the University of Sydney. He then went on to gain a Fellowship in Dentistry through the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. After this, Tim was accepted into residency training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery training in Victoria culminating in a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Tim then went on to complete further sub-specialty training both locally and internationally after being awarded three fellowships.

  • Fellowship in Cochlear Implants, complex otology, and skull-base surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital, and University College Hospital in London, U.K.

  • Fellowship in Cochlear Implants, otology, and neuro-otology at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, and The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

  • Fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, U.S.A. where he was awarded the Michael E. Burt Award for surgical excellence.

At present Tim currently holds multiple appointments in public and private hospitals across Melbourne. He is the supervisor of training for the accredited Otolaryngology registrars at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is also a senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne.
